Microsoft wants Bing on the iPhone

Microsoft thinks that the iPhone could represent another way to boost the popularity of its search engine, Bing.
The Redmond-based company released on Thursday a software developer kit (SDK) which will allow iPhone developers to integrate Bing searching into their apps.
Google is the default search engine built in the Safari browser on the iPhone. Other search engines such as Ask or Bing, are accessible only if you go the service’s web page.
But Microsoft wants to change that. Using the SDK the company released on Thursday, developers can build iPhone applications that search through BIn for information, images, videos, news and phonebook results.
Applications developed in Cocoa or Cocoa Touch can also integrate Bing search results thanks to the open source SDK. Anyone can download the Bing SDK for iPhone and Mac here.
